Tulsa authorities search for missing girl's body

TULSA, OK. (AP) - Authorities in Tulsa are digging up a parking lot in search of the body of a young Florida girl who disappeared 15 years ago.

Orange County Detective Marcus Robinson tells the Tulsa World he's "extremely confident" that Ashani Karin Creighton's body is buried underneath the strip-mall parking lot. The girl went missing from Orlando in 1997 when she was 4 years old.

Oklahoma and Florida authorities began their search Saturday for the girl's remains, and authorities began digging up the parking lot on Sunday.

No one has been arrested in the girl's death.

Robinson says his department received a tip that the girl was killed in Florida and then taken to Tulsa where she was buried on the site - which had been a residential area at the time.
