COLEMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma authorities have identified the second victim of a murder-suicide in Johnston County.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had identified the female victim as 75-year-old Arleeta Whitmire. The OSBI says she was shot in the head and died at her home near the town of Coleman in rural Johnston County on Tuesday.
When sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, they searched a nearby home where Whitmire's son and grandson lived. There, they found 14-year-old Ross Whitmire dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
