LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- Two Lamar County school districts have cancelled their upcoming school board elections, saving the districts thousands of dollars.
At Monday's Paris ISD and Roxton ISD board meetings, the trustees voted to cancel the May 10th election because all three incumbents for both districts, that filed for reelection, have no opponents.
Paris ISD will save $8,000 while Roxton ISD will save around $2,400.
North Lamar, Chisum and Prairiland ISD's will still hold elections.
