Art exhibit at PJC

PARIS, TX -- Paris Junior College students gathered yesterday to kick off the fine arts fall line-up with an art exhibit.

Artist John Simmons is displaying his ceramic pieces and paintings at the Foyer Gallery on campus. Simmons answered students questions and gave pointers to inspiring artists.

Simmons says it's always interesting getting feedback from people on his artwork.

"If they can identify with it, I think that's what art is all about identifying with objects and people," said Simmons. "Art is sort of representation of life."

Simmons' art will be displayed until November 5th.

Continuing the fine arts line up, PJC will host a concert called "Bella Cantati" on October 29th and drama and music students will take the stage in November for "Les Miserables."
