City says PEDC board members must live in city limits

PARIS, TX -- The city council turned down the Paris Economic Development Corporation's request to allow a board member to live outside the city limits.

The PEDC is attempting to fill a vacancy on their board after Toni Clem submitted her resignation last week.

Executive Director Steve Gilbert said several people contacted him about the vacant position that live outside the city limits, but own a Paris business.

The council voted unanimously against allowing people on the board who do not live within the city limits.
