PARIS, TX-- The Paris man, found guilty in February of last year for the stabbing death of his wife, will remain behind bars.
The 6th Court of Criminal Appeals in Texarkana upheld 44 year old Byron Barrett's 2013 guilty verdict.
Jurors found Barrett guilty of murdering his wife Donna at their home in April of 2012, and he was sentenced to life in prison.
The Lamar County Court Clerk's Office says Barrett's attorney filed the appeal the same day he was found guilty. He will have to serve at least 30 years before he is eligible for parole.
