LAMAR COUNTY, TX -- Hundreds of people will be getting muddy for a good cause this weekend.
The second annual Mad Max Mud Run will kick off this Saturday featuring a 5K with 15 mud-filled obstacles.
100 percent of the proceeds will go towards the Lamar County Coalition of Education, Business and Industry that provides learning programs for students across Lamar County.
This year the course features five new obstacles.
"One is a mud slide, it's about 30 feet long that people will slide down on their bottoms into a mud pit," said Mad Max Mud Run organizer Stephanie Connot.
Registration for the run is still available online through Thursday at madmaxmudrun.com or you can sign up on the day of the event.
The event kicks off at at 9 am Saturday, with heats every 30-minutes until noon. Spectators are welcome to come watch all the fun.
