PARIS, TX -- On Monday the Paris city council approved a $5.5 million plan to extend infrastructure to the Southeast part of town near the airport.
In September, over 20 residents near the Cox Field Airport asked to be disannexed from the city. The area was annexed in 1999, when city officials promised to bring utilities to the area.
On Monday, the council voted six to one to use part of the part of the $45-million bond, approved in May, to extend water and sewer lines to 49 residents and the airport.
The city will now be taking bids for the project.
