PARIS, TX-- An 18-wheeler jack knifed Tuesday afternoon--spilling gallons of diesel in front of Paris High School.
Police say around 12:45 a semi was traveling westbound on SE Loop 286 when it went off the roadway, over-corrected and jack knifed into the eastbound lane.
Officials say the car traveling eastbound veered off the road to avoid a collision but was clipped in the back.
A passenger in the car complained of injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Officials say one of the gas tanks was punctured, spilling the diesel on the roadway.
The diesel has since been cleaned up.
