Texas Night Out in Paris

LAMAR COUNTY, TX -- First responders are inviting residents from all over Lamar County to join in Texas Night Out.

This will be only the second time the Paris has hosted the national event, that lets residents and first responders get to know each other one on one.

"This one is dedicated primarily to first responders, our fire department, EMS, Police and I think this is just a very great opportunity to get that one on one type relationship started," said Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley.

Tomorrow's event will have several activities including an impaired driving obstacle course, giveaways, a hands on look at first responder vehicles as well as a medical helicopter and hot dogs will be served.

Paris Police Chief, Bob Hundley, hopes the interaction with first responders will garner a mutual respect.

"I think also what they will find out is the level of professionalism that we have in our fire department, EMS and local law enforcement around here," said Hundley.

The event will kick-off tomorrow at 6 P.M. and run until eight at the Love Civic Center in Paris.
