COOKE COUNTY, Tex. -- Cooke County is the latest to join the growing list of those issuing burn bans across Texoma. Hot, dry, and windy conditions are continuing to provide the perfect recipe for wildfires.

Denton County has issued a burn ban in effect until the drought like conditions are over. Collin County announced a 90-day burn ban early last week.

Violation of the ban is considered a Class C Misdemeanor and is punishable of a fine up to $500.
