DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas police officer who said he was taken hostage by a masked man in a robbery is being charged with planning and taking part in the failed heist.
Dallas police today said that Officer Alph Coleman was charged with aggravated robbery for his alleged role in a June 27 attempted robbery of a Sam's Club.
A jail spokesman said Coleman was in custody at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on a $50,000 bond for the aggravated robbery charges.
It wasn't immediately clear if Coleman had an attorney.
He has been placed on administrative leave.
