Mom spared death for fire that killed daughter

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A Fort Worth-area woman has received a life prison sentence without parole for setting fire to her three young daughters, killing one of them.

Alysha V. Green pleaded guilty yesterday to capital murder and injury to a child in a plea deal that spared her a possible death sentence.

Three-year-old Ariania Green died a few days after suffering burns to 90 percent of her body in the fire at their Haltom City house a year ago. Her older daughters, then 5 and 7, were seriously burned in the fire that Green admitted setting because she was angry at her husband, the girls' father.

Green, herself, was hospitalized for three weeks with burns from the fire.
