LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - The only sister of rock 'n' roll legend Buddy Holly has died in Lubbock.
A Lubbock funeral home confirms 79-year-old Patricia Lou Holley Kaiter died September 25th.
Holly, who changed the spelling of his last name after a recording contract left out the 'e,' was killed in a 1959 plane crash in Iowa. He was 22.
Relatives say Kaiter kept the memory of Holly, the youngest of her three brothers, alive.
Despite his short career, Holly wrote several legendary songs, including "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be The Day" and "Maybe Baby."
