JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin has
returned a Texas man's $4,625 seized by a deputy during a traffic stop.
McMillin said Tuesday that the deputy had probable cause to stop the vehicle driven by Hiran Medina but violated the sheriff department's policy by seizing an amount less than $10,000.
Medina's vehicle was stopped Saturday on Interstate 20 in Clinton.
McMillin said the man's expenses while in Jackson also will be paid.
