CROCKETT, Texas (AP) - About 30 inmates at a Texas Youth Commission facility in Crockett demonstrated on top of a building for several hours.
A message left early Monday with the Crockett State School was not immediately returned to The Associated Press. A call to Crockett police was answered by a dispatcher in the Houston County Sheriff's Office, who said no one was available to comment.
KTRE-TV reports the young men Sunday night protested atop the school's gymnasium, before they eventually returned to a dormitory. Several yelled obscenities and made threatening gestures.
No information was available on why the inmates at the corrections facility were demonstrating.
KTRE reports police were aware of the protest, but TYC did not request help. No injuries were reported.
Crockett is about 110 miles north of Houston.
