PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - Federal jurors in Kentucky have heard testimony that an ex-soldier was among three who donned black "ninja suits" and ski masks before killing an Iraqi family of four.
The ex-soldier on trial, Steven Dale Green of Midland, Texas, has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a March 2006 attack in Iraq that included the rape of a 14-year-old girl.
Jesse Spielman is serving time in a military prison for a role in the attack. He told jurors in a Paducah, Ky., federal court testified yesterday about how Green and other soldiers disguised themselves before going to the family's home.
Green is being tried in Kentucky as a civilian because he had been discharged from the Army before charges were brought. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
