DALLAS (AP) - A Texas man who pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography after being arrested trying to buy a 9-year-old girl for sex has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.
Kevin Moake of Flower Mound was sentenced to the maximum term Monday. The 50-year-old was ordered to register as a sex offender
and will be on lifetime supervised release after he gets out.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Moake acknowledged driving to a fast-food restaurant in 2007 for what he thought was an attempt to buy a girl for sex. To spend the night with the nonexistent girl, he paid an undercover officer $100, which was a down payment in a "rent-to-own plan."
He was immediately arrested. Authorities said a laptop in his vehicle had more than 600 images of child pornography.
