2 escaped inmates recaptured in east Texas

LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) - Authorities have recaptured two men who
escaped from the seventh floor of a jail in eastern Texas.

Officials with the Gregg County Sheriff's department say 27-year-old Desmond Jackson was captured without incident near the East Texas Regional Airport early Wednesday morning. They say no one was hurt.

Earlier, Sheriff's Lt. Tim Bryan caught 22-year-old Bruce Danjuane Kelly of Longview as he stood beneath a carport Tuesday night.

Jackson was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted this month of killing a man during a 2007 pawn shop robbery. Kelly is charged in the June robbery and slaying of a 65-year-old man.

Sheriff Maxey Cerliano (ser-lee-AH'-no) on Tuesday afternoon announced their escape from the Gregg County Jail.
