SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A woman accused of dismembering her 3½-week-old son has been moved to the Bexar County Jail after being released from a hospital.
Cpl Benavides at the jail told The Associated Press that 33-year-old Otty Sanchez had been moved to the jail Tuesday morning after being released from University Hospital in San Antonio.
Sanchez had been treated for self-inflicted cuts to her torso and an attempt to slice her own throat. She's charged with capital murder and is being held on $1 million bond.
Calls to relatives Tuesday were not immediately returned and it was not clear whether Sanchez had an attorney.
She's accused of butchering her newborn son, Scott Wesley Buchholz-Sanchez, with a steak knife and two swords early Sunday.
