MATAGORDA, Texas (AP) - The Coast Guard has suspended its earch
for three boaters missing in the Gulf of Mexico off Matagorda.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Renee Aiello says the search was stopped about 10 a.m. Friday. She says the case remains open.
The Coast Guard has searched more than 86,000 square miles for 28-year-old Curtis Hall of Palacios (puh-LAH'-sh's), 43-year-old Tressel Hawkins of Markham and 30-year-old boat owner James Phillips of Blessing.
The men failed to return from a fishing trip Saturday.
Matagorda is about 90 miles southwest of Houston.
