DALLAS (AP) - A judge has set a date next month to settle a property dispute between a former condominium owner and Southern Methodist University over the site of George W. Bush's presidential library.
District Judge Martin Hoffman on Friday set a Sept. 18 court date to issue a summary judgment in the case of Robert Tafel, one of two condo owners in the fight with SMU.
Tafel and condo owner Gary Vodicka appeared to settle their lawsuits last month. But both men backed out this week, saying SMU tried to expand the deal beyond its original terms.
SMU attorneys say Vodicka and Tafel tried to squeeze more money from the university.
A date has not yet been set for the judge to decide Vodicka's case.
