AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The man shot by Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents in a confrontation in Austin last month has died of his wound.
The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the 25-year-old man as Steven Edward Lunt of Austin. TABC officials say agents shot him in a southwestern Austin apartment complex parking lot Aug. 16 as Lunt tried to run them down in his car.
TABC officials said three agents were patrolling near bars when they spotted a vehicle that Austin police had been pursuing. The agents followed the suspect's vehicle into the parking lot of an apartment complex and the suspect allegedly tried to run over one agent. That's when two agents fired their guns.
All three agents have been placed on paid administrative leave
pending a Texas Rangers investigation.
