2 Dallas boys urged stepfather not to kill them

DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police say two boys talked their stepfather
into letting them live after he allegedly killed their mother and 6-year-old sister.

Gary Green is charged with capital murder and remained jailed Wednesday on $1 million bail. No attorney was listed, in electronic
records at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, for Green.

Police documents indicate Green had showed the boys, ages 9 and 12, the two bodies. The younger boy was stabbed, allegedly by Green, and was treated at a hospital.

Chief David Kunkle says the "two boys were able, we believe, to talk Mr. Green out of killing them." The youngsters called 911 after Green fled.

Police on Monday night found the bodies of Lovetta Armstead and her daughter. Green surrendered Tuesday.
