DALLAS (AP) - Transit officials in Dallas are investigating the death of a man who lay down on the tracks in front of an oncoming train.
The death of the man Thursday evening was the first Dallas Area Rapid Transit rail fatality since March 2007, when a 56-year-old man was struck after lying down on the tracks.
DART officials say the operator spotted the man Thursday but could not stop the train in time.
Train service in the area was stopped while the investigation continued. A bus is being used to transport riders who would normally take the train in that area.
