HENDERSON, Texas (AP) - Two men have been charged with capital
murder over a double slaying in Rusk County in which the victims were shot and dumped along a road.
The Rusk County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Drake Dario Blanton and 24-year-old Jason Terel Hunt were jailed Tuesday on $1 million bail apiece.
Sgt. Viki Penny told The Associated Press that she had no record of attorneys for the Rusk County men. Both were arrested over the weekend.
Investigators say one of the Jan. 25 shooting victims stayed alive long enough to describe who allegedly attacked them.
The victims were 29-year-old Rigoberto Tovar Pina and 27-year-old Steve Abran Parra, both of Center. A vehicle belonging to Pina has been recovered.
A motive for the shootings is sought.
