LIVINGSTON, Texas (AP) - A Texas inmate set to be executed
Tuesday admits to a fatal shooting, but disputes evidence linking
him to the six-month crime binge that got him the death sentence.
The 34-year-old Franklin Dewayne Alix says he never claimed to
be totally innocent but says he was portrayed in such a bad light
to Houston jurors that he'd have hated himself if he didn't know
Alix faces lethal injection Tuesday evening in Huntsville for
fatally shooting a 23-year-old Houston man, Eric Bridgeford, during
a robbery 12 years ago after abducting and raping Bridgeford's
