2 prisoners escape from Texas state prison
HOUSTON (AP) - State prison officials say two inmates have cut
through a fence and fled on foot from a prison in southwest Texas.
One of them is a convicted murderer.
Spokesman Jason Clark says 21-year-old Jose Bustos-Diaz and
27-year-old Octavio Ramos Lopez were last seen early Tuesday. Clark
says the two escaped from the Briscoe Unit in Dilley, about 75
miles southwest of San Antonio.
Clark says Bustos-Diaz is serving a 35-year sentence for a
Harris County murder. He says Lopez is serving 20 years on
kidnapping and drug convictions.
