HOUSTON (AP) - A man who Houston police say crashed into a home, gravely injuring a 4-month-old girl sleeping in a front room, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Nineteen-year-old David Chacon remained in the Harris County jail on $30,000 bond Monday, a day after he was charged. A court coordinator said there was no attorney listed for him.
Police say Chacon ran a stop sign in the pickup truck he was driving, then traveled up the home's driveway before crashing into the home early Sunday morning. Police say the truck hit the infant, Elizabeth Cedillo, who was asleep in a front room.
Police said Monday that doctors at Memorial Hermann Hospital said she remained on life support.
