Ex-firefighter accused of arson at farm, mom's van

KIRBY, Texas (AP) - A former firefighter has been charged with
three counts of arson for allegedly setting fire to his mother's
van and to farmland in Kirby, east of San Antonio.
Anthony Charles Wiatrek was arrested Friday.
Investigators say that in March 2008, Wiatrek set fire to land
at the 4H Farm and then called to report the blaze. Police saw him
at the scene, but he was wearing a Kirby Fire Department shirt and
said he was in the area feeding his father's goats.
Then, last week, a fire was intentionally set to his mother's
van.
Authorities say the 28-year-old could face other charges.
There was no answer at the phone number listed for him Friday,
and it was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
