Cop show creator says Dallas was perfect setting

DALLAS (AP) - The creator of a new television show about two mismatched cops on the streets of Dallas says part of the reason he picked the city was it's combination of the old and the new.
"The Good Guys" staring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks will premiere June 7 on Fox.
Series creator Matt Nix says Dallas has "an old-school feel, but it's also shiny and new."
He says, quote, "That's unusual, the way it's got grit, but it's not ugly. It's got an old-new thing going on in a really interesting way."
He says that aspect of the city fit in with his desire to do a modern take on a classic cop show.
He also tells The Dallas Morning News that the city was appealing because it's an international city with an array of cultures.
