Some residents of New Braunfels, Texas were forced to evacuate today after storms produced heavy rains that resulted in flooding.
Several areas of the city saw between eight and 10 inches of rain near the Guadalupe River area, forcing it to overflow its banks. The runoff ended up in nearby Lake Dunlap, where residents had to head to higher ground.
Some campers along the Guadalupe River say the flooding caught them by surprise a few were still asleep when they got word of the rising water. Numerous rescues have been reported, one man was killed near Gruene, Texas during heavy flooding in Comal County. That person's name has not been released.
