Flood recovery continues in the New Braunfels area after heavy rain and storms less than two weeks before the start of summer and the busy river tubing season.
Comal County authorities say River Road was scheduled to reopen Thursday. The road, along the Guadalupe River, had been closed since June 9 flooding. New Braunfels has announced plans to open the Guadalupe River and the Comal River, within the city limits, the weekend of June 25th.
City Manager Mike Morrison told the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung that the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and the Army Corps of Engineers agreed to cut river flows during cleanup. Morrison says
volunteers are needed to help clean flood-affected city parks.
