ABILENE, Texas (AP) - Closing arguments have concluded in the court martial of a Dyess Air Force Base airman who's accused of adultery and neglecting a toddler who later died.

Military spokeswoman 1st Lt. Nicole Ferrara said Friday both sides have rested and a judge will rule in the case of Airman Christopher Perez, who elected to forgo a jury trial.

Perez previously lived with Tiffany Klapheke, wife of airman Thomas Klapheke.

Tiffany Klapheke has said her husband's deployment made her too stressed to take care of their three children, which led to the death of her 22-month-old daughter from malnutrition and dehydration in August 2012. She is scheduled for trial in January in Abilene.

Upon his return, Thomas Klapheke filed for divorce.
