BRYAN, Texas (AP) - A newly freed felon has been charged with arson and burglary as police investigate the deaths of a woman and her father whose bodies were found in her burned home.
Brazos County jail records show 34-year-old Dennis Wayne Brown III of Madisonville was being held Thursday on $1.15 million bond. He's also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Texas prison records show Brown was freed last Friday after serving 15 years for aggravated robbery.
The bodies of 32-year-old Noel Devin and 63-year-old Thomas "Mac" Devin were located Monday in her burned residence. Autopsy results are pending.
Jail records don't list an attorney for Brown, who was arrested at a Bryan motel where Noel Devin's SUV was parked outside. Police found items from the woman's home in Brown's room.
