DALLAS,TX. (AP) - A Dallas police officer found not guilty of aggravated assault in a confrontation involving country singer Steve Holy can rejoin the police force.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Paul Loughridge will have to re-enter the Dallas Police Academy since it has been four years since he was fired from the force.
Loughridge had been accused of pointing a gun at a man during a night of drinking in December 2007 at Holy's home. Holy told police that Loughridge and another officer pointed their guns at him and his friend and ordered them on the ground.
Former officer Randy Anderson was sentenced to 45 days in jail.
Loughridge says he kept fighting to get his job back "for any officer that's been falsely accused."
