Dallas hate crime: 2 hurt in baseball bat attacks

DALLAS,TX. (AP) - Dallas police say two men have been beaten with baseball bats in an alleged hate crime attack.

Five men are sought over Tuesday's incident in which police say two men were targeted for their sexual orientation.

Police on Wednesday said the suspects were in a car that approached the pedestrians in a neighborhood. The suspects allegedly shouted derogatory slurs before the attack.

Both victims were transported to a hospital. A police report says one man suffered head injuries. The other man fought back and became caught in the passenger's side of the vehicle, causing him to be dragged a short distance.

Further details on their conditions were not immediately released.
