GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) - The prosecutor who sent an innocent man to prison for the murder of the man's wife is set to face an inquiry into his handling of the case.

A decision is expected Friday afternoon on accusations against former Williamson County District Attorney Ken Anderson.

Anderson handled the prosecution of Michael Morton in the 1980s. Morton spent 25 in prison. After years of appeals, he finally won the chance to test a bandana found near the crime scene for DNA. He was exonerated in 2011 and honored this year on the floor of the Texas legislature.

Now District Judge Louis Sturns must decide the fate of the prosecutor. He could order Morton tried on criminal charges of hiding evidence. He could also find Morton in contempt of court.
