HOUSTON (AP) - Fire officials say one firefighter was hospitalized with minor burns while fighting a blaze at a five-story hotel that was under construction.
The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office said in a news release that the fire broke out early Tuesday morning and the building collapsed during the fire. Firefighters evacuated a nearby motel as they fought the blaze.
The fire marshal's office says that several hours after the fire broke out, crews were working to extinguish remaining hotspots.
The fire marshal's office, which is investigating the cause of the fire, says the injured firefighter was in stable condition.
