GALVESTON, Texas (AP) - A Galveston man faces felony charges after authorities say he fled a boating accident in the Galveston Channel last weekend and tampered with evidence.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dustin Paul Lunsford was arrested twice earlier this week on separate charges and was free Friday on $50,000 bond. Jail records did not show an attorney listed for Lunsford and a home phone number for him could not be found.

Two people from Galveston were injured Sunday night when a motorboat collided with a sailboat. Fifty-year-old Scott Perry and 68-year-old Celia Stastny were taken to a Galveston hospital.

A Texas Parks and Wildlife Department release says the motorboat struck the 27-foot sailboat, knocking a hole in the vessel, and the motorboat sped away.

Authorities say the investigation continues.
