HOUSTON (AP) - Nearly a dozen suspects have been arrested in Houston in a crackdown on an alleged human smuggling ring operating in Texas and other states.
U.S. Attorney John Bales planned to release further details during a news conference at 4 p.m. CST Thursday in Beaumont.
Federal agents on Thursday were seen searching several businesses in Houston, including employment agencies, and removing some individuals. At least 11 people were seen being taken into custody.
Law enforcement officers also raided some homes in Port Arthur.
