Man with Snake gets Life for San Antonio Slaying

SAN ANTONIO (AP) A so-called "snake man" known for toting his pet boa constrictor with him has been sentenced to life in prison for a South Texas killing.

A judge in San Antonio on Monday sentenced Julian Cedric Bell.

Jurors earlier this month convicted Bell of murder in last June's shooting death of Jason Ross at a motel. Investigators say Bell ambushed Ross in the victim's room.

Prosecutors say Bell, who also lived at the motel, believed the victim was disrespectful when Ross declined to socialize with the snake owner..
