OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police have released the name of an off-duty officer killed in a single-car crash in Logan County and says he was a 12-year veteran of the department.

Capt. Dexter Nelson says 39-year-old Sgt. Steven Elsass and 30-year-old Amber Brown died in the crash about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Nelson referred other questions to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol - which investigated the crash.

OHP Trooper Betsy Randolph says Brown was driving the high-performance sports car and was apparently speeding when she lost control and crashed into a concrete culvert alongside the road. Randolph says the car rolled and came to rest on its top about 300 feet from the initial point of impact.

Randolph says both Elsass and Brown were dead at the scene.
