FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A statewide group advocating for Texans' right to openly carry firearms and a North Texas affiliate have parted ways after armed members of the affiliate entered a fast-food restaurant and frightened employees.

Fort Worth police say the employees locked themselves in a freezer last week and a witness called 911.

Open Carry Texas and Open Carry Tarrant County both dispute what happened. However, Open Carry Texas founder C.J. Grisham says both have agreed to a "mutual parting without animosity."

Twice in recent weeks, gun-toting members of the Tarrant County group appeared at area fast-food restaurants without notifying police. Open Carry Tarrant County members spooked customers last month in Arlington when they strolled toward a Wendy's with rifles.

The Open Carry Texas policy is to notify authorities in advance.
