AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Storm victims in 11 Central Texas counties can seek federal financial help as recovery continues from the violent late October weather.
Gov. Rick Perry on Friday announced the Small Business Administration has agreed to provide disaster assistance for people in Caldwell, Hays and Travis counties. Victims in neighboring Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe and Williamson counties are also eligible to apply.
Homeowners, renters and businesses in all 11 counties can seek long-term, low-interest SBA disaster loans.
An SBA disaster loan center will open Monday in Austin for people in Travis County. Centers will open Dec. 3 in Kyle, serving Hays County residents, and Dec. 5 in Lockhart, for disaster outreach for Caldwell County.
At least six deaths have been blamed on last month's storms.
