Suspect in Tyler motorcycle club slaying arrested
TYLER, Texas (AP) - A suspect in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at an East Texas motorcycle clubhouse has surrendered.
Tyler police say 32-year-old Marquel Jermon Scott of Tyler was being held Friday on murder and aggravated assault charges. Online Smith County Jail records did not list an attorney for Jermon, whose bond was set at $1.25 million.
Scott, who surrendered Thursday afternoon, faces charges over gunfire early Monday at the Hyena clubhouse. Police say Keeston Dwone Fields of Tyler died at a hospital. A second man was critically hurt.
Police have not released a possible motive for the shootings.
Tyler is about 95 miles southeast of Dallas.
