Texan charged with impersonating federal agent

HOUSTON (AP) - A Houston-area man has been charged with pretending to be an FBI or CIA agent in an effort get personal information from people and a traffic ticket dismissed.

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday announced the arrest of 57-year-old Paul Alan White of the Woodlands. White faces an initial court appearance after being taken into custody Monday on a four-count indictment charging him with impersonating a public servant.

White, who's also known as Jonathan Alan Davenport, allegedly posed as a federal agent in 2011 and this year. Further details weren't immediately released on individuals allegedly contacted by White or where the ticket was issued.

Houston police helped investigate.
