FRISCO, Texas (AP) - A North Texas woman charged with killing her 10-year-old son has joined dozens of mourners at a candlelight vigil for the boy.
Pallavi Dhawan attended Wednesday night's gathering outside the family's home in Frisco, 25 miles north of Dallas. She remains free on $50,000 bail after being charged with murder after police on Jan. 29 found her son, Arnav, dead at the residence.
Her attorney says the mother has denied killing the boy and Arvan was a special-needs child, born with a brain cyst and microcephaly. Toxicology results are pending.
The woman and her husband, Sumeet Dhawan, cried during the vigil. One mourner sang "Amazing Grace." Some children who were friends with Arnav also attended. Cards and toys were left at the yard.
