GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) - A Houston man has been charged with murder in the 1991 disappearance of his estranged wife whose body was never found.
Williamson County Jail records show 51-year-old Rex Allen Nisbett was being held Friday on $250,000 bond. Online records do no list an attorney for Nisbett, who was booked Thursday into the jail in Georgetown.
Vicki Nisbett of Cedar Park was last seen in December 1991 at her apartment.
District Attorney Jana Duty took office in January and reviewed the case - including blood evidence - at the request of a friend of the missing woman. Duty says the Nisbetts were divorcing but the wife let her spouse stay at her place during the holidays.
Duty says it's a strong circumstantial case despite not having a body.
