DALLAS (AP) - Virgin America says it's landing at Dallas Love Field airport.
The airline said Friday that starting in October, it will fly to New York's LaGuardia airport, Washington's National Airport, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
It says it won control of two gates at Love Field that American Airlines agreed to relinquish as part of its merger with US Airways.
The city of Dallas has not formally signed off on the gate transfer, but is expected to vote Monday.
Southwest Airlines Co. has 16 of the 20 gates at Love Field, the smaller alternative to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport that is closer to downtown Dallas. Delta Air Lines Co. has the last two. Both Southwest and Delta have vied for American's gates.
